Introducing the newly refurbished Walmer Castle, a beloved public house that has been serving the community since 1845.

We are proud to have been a part of this structural remodelling project, ensuring that this historic building continues to be a key part of the community for years to come.

One of the major changes in the refurbishment was the creation of an open plan space on the ground floor, which required the removal of existing load-bearing masonry.

The structural solution was to design a new steel frame which could be threaded into the ground and first floors and support the structure above.

With a tight timeframe for completion, our team at Walder Sharp were brought in to provide expert advice on temporary works and sequencing, ensuring that the pub could re-open in time for the seasonal festivities.
