This listed, period town house located in Clapham's old town required remodelling to suit the family's needs.

As Structural Engineers we worked closely with the Architect to enable the heritage fabric to be retained whilst creating open plan spaces, this included detail analysis of the existing timber frame construction with discreet strengthen to form a bespoke truss supporting the spine wall. Our sustainable credentials tested with this solution.

A lightweight steel work arrangement was proposed to the top floor to open up the existing loft conversion which flooded light into the space and stairwell whilst retaining much of the previous construction.
